1. Who we are

Ivya (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a platform that connects clients in London with verified tradespeople. Ivya is operated by [Company legal name], [registered address]. 2. What we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, phone number, and a password (handled securely by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text).
  • Tradesperson details — your trade, working area, hourly rate, experience, the qualification and public-liability-insurance documents you upload for verification, and any work photos you add.
  • Job details — the description, area, full address, contact phone and photos you provide when posting a job.
  • Reviews you write or receive.
  • Contact requests and connections between clients and tradespeople.
  • Usage data — pages visited, logins and actions taken in the app, plus basic technical data such as your device and browser.

3. How we use your data and our legal bases

  • To create and run your account and provide the service (performance of a contract).
  • To verify tradespeople's qualifications and insurance (our legitimate interest in trust and safety, and performance of a contract with tradespeople).
  • To connect clients and tradespeople and share contact details when both sides agree (performance of a contract and/or your consent).
  • To keep the platform safe and prevent fraud or misuse (legitimate interest).
  • To understand and improve how the service is used (legitimate interest).
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We share a client's and a tradesperson's contact details with each other only when there is mutual agreement — when a tradesperson approves a contact request, or when a client hires a tradesperson.

We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: our database, authentication and file-storage provider (Supabase), our hosting provider (Netlify), and — where enabled — our email provider. They act only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where we are required to by law. We never sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Storage and international transfers

Your data is stored on secure infrastructure provided by our processors. Where any processor stores or processes data outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to meet legal obligations. Verification documents are kept only as long as needed for verification and record-keeping.

7. Security

We use access controls and database-level security so that private data — such as verification documents and contact details — is only visible to the people entitled to see it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. 9. Cookies

We use only the essential storage needed to keep you signed in and run the app. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Ivya is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of Ivya. By creating an account or using Ivya, you agree to them. Ivya is operated by [Company legal name].

2. What Ivya is

Ivya is a platform that helps clients find verified tradespeople and helps tradespeople find work. Ivya is not a party to any agreement or job between a client and a tradesperson. We are not the employer of any tradesperson and we do not carry out the work ourselves.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or over to use Ivya. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and take responsibility for activity on your account.

4. Verification of tradespeople

We check the qualification and insurance documents that tradespeople provide, and a member of our team reviews each profile before it goes live. However, verification is based on the documents supplied and does not guarantee the quality, safety or outcome of any work. Clients should still use their own judgement and carry out any checks they consider necessary before hiring.

5. Clients

As a client, you are responsible for the accuracy of the job details you post, for agreeing terms directly with the tradesperson, and for your dealings with them. Any contract for the work is between you and the tradesperson.

6. Tradespeople

As a tradesperson, you confirm that the qualifications and insurance you provide are genuine and current, that you are legally entitled to carry out the work you offer, and that you will deal with clients honestly and professionally.

7. Contact details and connections

Phone numbers and other contact details are shared between a client and a tradesperson only with consent — when a tradesperson approves a contact request, or when a client hires a tradesperson. You agree to use others' contact details only for the purpose of the job and in line with the law.

8. Reviews

Reviews must be honest and based on real experience. We may remove reviews that are abusive, false, or that break these terms.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Ivya, including by posting false information, impersonating others, harassing users, attempting to bypass verification, or using the platform for any unlawful purpose.

10. Fees

Ivya is currently free to use. We may introduce fees for tradespeople in the future; if we do, we will give clear notice before any charges apply.

11. Our liability

Ivya provides the platform “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts, work or conduct of any client or tradesperson, or for any loss arising from a job arranged through the platform. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

We may update these terms and will post the updated version here.
